The Nete is beautiful

In recent years the water quality of our Belgian rivers has greatly improved. One of the cleanest rivers among them is the small Nete. In an earlier post I reported the resettlement of the beaver, but one of the residents that's been here all this time is the kingfisher. This fast and elusive bird isn't easy to capture on camera and when you do get it, it's usually a grainy picture because they love to sit under a canopy of leaves. But I've been taking my DSLR with me since I bought a decent deckbag to keep it dry and it has payed off.
