The Nete

At the city of Lier, where the Kleine Nete and the Grote Nete connect, starts the Nete. This tidal river flows together with the dijle into the Rupel at Rumst. 
There is some commercial shipping on the Nete, from Duffel to Lier till 600 tons and  1350 tons from Duffel downstream. But once you pass the Nete channel in Lier the only boats you see are kayaks. A few rapids appear during low tide but the rivers is always passable with a kayak.
